Paul Bateson, British born and living in Spain since 2001, is 90% deaf due to treatment received after a cycling accident. In May, 2013, he will be running 1000 kilometers in approximately 25 days, clockwise around the boundary of the Province of Granada to raise funds for ASPRODES and Action on Hearing Loss (RNID) and to raise awareness of the difficulties facing Deaf/Handicapped people and to illustrate how they can be overcome through sport.

“I needed a new challenge before I get too old so I decided to run a lap of Granada Province, approximately 1000km, in May. I haven’t run for so many days before but the Province and the surrounding ones I will be passing through are all beautiful so as long as I keep going it should be an enjoyable 25days or so. I hope you will support my efforts by donating to the Action on Hearing Loss charity.” – Paul Bateson
